Hi. I’m Hailey.
My hope is that each person I work with will leave my office empowered to walk confidently into the future.
When you work with Grounded Roots Family Development Center, you can be confident that you, you, your child, and your family, are getting the very best evidence-based support.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 2008. After graduation, I worked with children and families in multiple capacities as a paraprofessional in a special needs classroom, director of a special needs ministry, a parent trainer, and graduate student.
In 2012, I earned my graduate degree from Abilene Christian University as a Specialist in School Psychology and have been working in public schools as a School Psychologist since that time. I earned my Licensed Psychological Associate licensure in 2022. I am married and have 4 wonderful boys.
My passion for neurodevelopmental disorders emerged as I worked with, and learned from, children who experience the world in unique ways; including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Tourette Syndrome. I have since focused on providing comprehensive evaluations and effective, evidence-based interventions for these disorders.
At Grounded Roots Family Development Center, we are dedicated to empowering children and their families. We offer services designed to support the unique strengths and challenges of each child. Our goal is to create an environment where every child and family can thrive, be their best self, and take root for greatness. I look forward to partnering with you and your family on this journey.

Hi. I’m Tara.
I want my students to walk away with the skills needed to be successful readers and writers, but most importantly knowing they are capable of great things.
At Grounded Roots, families can expect individualized support, meaningful collaboration, and evidence-based instruction designed to help children grow with confidence.
I am passionate about helping struggling readers develop the foundational skills they need to become confident, successful learners.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Abilene Christian University in 2014 and began teaching in Abilene ISD in 2015. Throughout my career, I have served as a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, and dyslexia instructor, supporting students with a wide range of reading and learning needs.
My passion for helping struggling readers began during my first year in the classroom and led me to pursue a Master's Degree in Reading from The University of Texas at Tyler, which I completed in 2020. After spending several years as a reading interventionist, I began training to become a Certified Academic Language Practitioner in 2022 while providing dyslexia instruction in the public school setting. I earned my CALP certification in September 2024 and am currently completing the requirements to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT).
As a CALP, I provide multisensory structured language instruction designed to help students strengthen foundational reading skills, improve overall reading ability, and develop confidence in themselves as learners. I believe that every child is capable of growth and success when given the right support, instruction, and encouragement.
I was drawn to Grounded Roots Family Development Center because of its commitment to supporting children and families throughout the Abilene community. Families need to know they are not alone and that there are services and people available to help them navigate challenges and celebrate successes.
One of my greatest goals is to help students become stronger readers and writers while also helping them recognize their own strengths and potential. I want my students to leave our time together with the skills they need to be successful and the confidence to believe they are capable of great things.
When I'm not working with students, you can usually find me spending time with my family. I am married with two adorable children. We love singing and browsing bookstores. I believe that community is built on belonging, support, and learning from one another. We all have a need for connection, and I strive to create a welcoming, encouraging environment for every child and family I work with.
